Baseball Recap: Fife Starts off Right with Win over Central Kitsap

Fife had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Central Kitsap Cougars. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Evan Reece made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Christiansen, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Mattson Ducharme was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fife will face off against White River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Fife's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Central Kitsap, they will take on North Kitsap at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Kitsap is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
