Basketball Game Preview: Manawa Wolves vs. Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds

Manawa and Iola-Scandinavia are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The Manawa Wolves will square off against the Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manawa is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Manawa lost to Weyauwega-Fremont on the road by a 59-42 margin.

Meanwhile, Iola-Scandinavia took a blow against Bonduel on Thursday, falling 72-38. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Bears are ranked 43rd).

Iola-Scandinavia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Manawa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Manawa barely slipped by Iola-Scandinavia when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 57-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manawa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
