Basketball Game Preview: Falls City Tigers vs. Mead Raiders

The Falls City Tigers will take on the Mead Raiders in a tournament on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Falls City is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Freeman on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Falls City was dealt a 50-22 loss at the hands of Freeman. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Falcons are ranked 95th).

Meanwhile, Mead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Johnson County Central 63-12.

Elizabeth Brennan was Mead's leading scorer, having posted six points. Brennan also led the team in rebounds with five.

Falls City dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Mead, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Falls City strolled past Mead when the teams last played back in January by a score of 41-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Falls City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
