Ricky Moon and Tyson Lincey were among the main playmakers for Drew as the former dropped a triple-double with 19 points, ten boards, and 12 assists and the latter went 9-for-16 en route to 24 points. Those 12 assists gave Moon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Khalil Harris, who posted ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, North Clayton had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Mount Paran Christian by a score of 73-70.

Drew's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for North Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
