Basketball Recap: Verdigris Comes Up Short

Verdigris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kiefer Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Trojans are ranked 53rd).

Verdigris' defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Kiefer, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

When Verdigris and Kiefer next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Verdigris will try to stop Skiatook's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kiefer will take on Perkins-Tryon and their eight-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
