The Ruidoso Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Tularosa Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ruidoso will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Ruidoso can't be too worried about heading out to take on Tularosa: they just beat Dexter at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Ruidoso had just enough and edged Dexter out 3-2 on Tuesday.

Ruidoso took Dexter into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-12, 22-25, 25-18, 15-11.

Ruidoso can attribute much of their success to Makenzie Wilson, who had six digs and 29 assists, and Aubrey Eidson, who had eight digs, seven kills, and five aces. Wilson has been hot , having posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Ruidoso was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in nine consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Tularosa didn't have quite enough to beat New Mexico Military Institute on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Colts 25-16 in the first set.

Tularosa actually scored more points across those five sets (107-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Ruidoso has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Tularosa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Everything went Ruidoso's way against Tularosa when the teams last played back in October, as Ruidoso made off with a 3-0 victory.
