Softball Recap: Estero Comes Up Short

Estero suffered their closest defeat since April 10, 2025 on Thursday. They fell just short of the North Fort Myers Red Knights by a score of 15-13. The Wildcats have struggled against the Red Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Avery Sanchez led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Weinbaum, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Estero's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Fort Myers, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Looking ahead, Estero is taking a road trip to square off against Neumann at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Fort Myers, they will square off against Ida Baker at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
