Basketball Recap: Skagway Victorious

It's playoff time, and Skagway had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Buckland Sissauni by a score of 53-40 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Royce Borst continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Lawson, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Skagway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Skagway's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Buckland, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Skagway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-68 victory against Nunamiut on the 15th. Buckland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
