Recap: Richfield Spartans vs. Visitation Blazers
If the Richfield Spartans were feeling good off their 57-24 takedown of the Kennedy Eagles last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Richfield took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Visitation on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richfield in their matchups with Visitation: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Richfield still got an impressive performance from Aniiya Johnson, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zarihana Rennie, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Richfield has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Visitation, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richfield will take on Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Visitation, they will be playing at home against Robbinsdale Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Robbinsdale Cooper is ranked 205th, while Visitation is ranked 230th).
