Gilmer came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Heritage, but Brayden Slaughter wouldn't allow it. The Generals strolled past the Bobcats with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 29-14 with plenty of help from Slaughter, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards.

Heritage has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Gilmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Heritage and Gilmer will both be playing LaFayette the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will host the Ramblers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Generals will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
