Basketball Recap: Peck Comes Up Short at Home Against Ubly

Peck unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Ubly Bearcats by a score of 39-37 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 47-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Despite the defeat, Peck saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aletta Jones posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Looking ahead, Peck won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against All Saints Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ubly, they and Cass City will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
