Softball Recap: Bonneville Has No Trouble Against Ogden

Bonneville came into Monday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Ogden Tigers on Monday. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lakers yet this season.

Peyton Johnson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Ellee Summers was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Madilyn DeGroot also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Bonneville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ogden struck out ten times.

Bonneville's record now sits at 3-7. As for Ogden, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Bonneville will take on Clearfield at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bonneville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Clearfield has averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Ogden, they will challenge Ben Lomond at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
