League recap: Cascade Christian leads league with three wins since last week

3A Southern Cascade league recap: 3/27/13

Cascade Christian had a successful week, as it won three total games to lead the league. The Challengers beat Sheridan/Sheridan Japanese 10-0 and Eagle Point 1-0.

Christian Aviles was the top pitcher in 3A Southern Cascade this week, leading St. Mary's. He racked up four strike outs this week.

The Crusaders' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 26 hits and seven walks, both of which led the league.

St. Mary's, the league's stolen base leader this season with 77, added to its lead in that category with 32 more steals over the past week.

There were four hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Daniel Seus, who collected five hits in ten at bats for a .500 average.



Joe Hammond led the Crusaders to a win on March 19, as he notched eight strikeouts to beat Weed, 11-2. He gave up one hit and two runs over five innings of work.

Jake Isola drove in five runners as Phoenix defeated St. Mary's 9-7 on Saturday. He went 2-for-5 and scored one run.
