Ariton is 7-2 against New Brockton since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Purple Cats will take on the Gamecocks in a tournament on Friday.

Ariton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Long on Thursday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 10-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Purple Cats in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Brockton). They put the hurt on Samson with a sharp 19-10 victory on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Gamecocks needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Ariton's loss dropped their record down to 10-8-1. As for New Brockton, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Ariton took their victory against New Brockton when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 14-0 score. Do the Purple Cats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gamecocks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
