Basketball Recap: General McLane Comes Up Short

General McLane was the 75-40 winner over Erie First Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The General McLane Lancers took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Erie First Christian Academy on Friday. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Erie First Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Collins led the charge by putting up 28 points and five rebounds. Collins is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Blum, who posted 21 points.

General McLane now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Erie First Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

General McLane will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eisenhower at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Erie First Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Iroquois at 8:30 p.m. on December 27th. Erie First Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
