Volleyball Recap: Calvary Lutheran Comes Up Short

Calvary Lutheran lost against Russellville back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Indians. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Calvary Lutheran was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.

Ailyn McDonald paced Calvary Lutheran's offense, picking up three kills. McDonald got some help from Sydney Foutes and her five assists. Foutes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Calvary Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-2. As for Russellville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season.

Calvary Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Centralia on the 18th. As for Russellville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Sacred Heart on the 18th.
