Basketball Preview: Rockport-Fulton Pirates vs. Ingleside Mustangs
The Rockport-Fulton Pirates will be playing at home against the Ingleside Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockport-Fulton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1246th, while the Mustangs are ranked 467th).
Rockport-Fulton had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 32-31 victory over Calhoun. The win was just what Rockport-Fulton needed coming off of a 67-38 defeat in their prior match.
Rockport-Fulton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaila Flaherty, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and four steals, and Allie Garcia, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Garcia also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Ingleside suffered their closest loss since November 7, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Sinton by a score of 44-41.
Rockport-Fulton's victory bumped their record up to 9-23. As for Ingleside, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-10.
