Baseball Recap: Fairmont Heights Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Fairmont Heights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against Surrattsville as they made off with a 21-2 win. Surprisingly, this marked Fairmont Heights' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Aromni Evangelista Galan made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Fairmont Heights got a massive performance out of Jeremiah Lamb, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lamb has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Benitez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Fairmont Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .435 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Fairmont Heights' record now sits at 11-4. As for Surrattsville, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairmont Heights beat Surrattsville by a score of 22-2 later that day.
