Baseball Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Liberty Lions

Shadow Ridge is 0-8 against Liberty since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Stallions will challenge the Lions at 3:45 p.m. Liberty took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Shadow Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Shadow Ridge is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since March 26th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Valley Vista. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

James Brooks looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Shadow Ridge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathaniel Pearson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Sunrise Mountain.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Shadow Ridge, they now have a winning record of 13-12-2.
