Softball Game Preview: Rolling Meadows Mustangs vs. Wheeling Wildcats

Rolling Meadows is 9-1 against Wheeling since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. Rolling Meadows is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Rolling Meadows came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Elk Grove by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rolling Meadows saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelly McQueen, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Wheeling's offense. They came up short against Prospect on Tuesday, falling 15-0.

Rolling Meadows' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Wheeling, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
