IDEA Riverview is 9-1 against Rio Hondo since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. IDEA Riverview had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Varsity Opponent on Monday. Everything went IDEA Riverview's way against Varsity Opponent as IDEA Riverview made off with a 4-0 win. Give the Rockets' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Angel Gonzalez and Andy Leal scored all four of IDEA Riverview's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Rio Hondo duked it out with La Feria on Friday. Rio Hondo fell just short of La Feria by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by just one goal.

IDEA Riverview pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four games. As for Rio Hondo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

IDEA Riverview skirted past Rio Hondo 3-2 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for IDEA Riverview since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
