             On Friday, Reed faced Bishop Manogue in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Reed Raiders took  a  42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Manogue Miners. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
 Despite the loss, Reed still got an impressive performance from   Nishaan Bajwa, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 127 yards and two touchdowns. Those 108  rushing yards gave  Bajwa a new career-high.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: Reed was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 325  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 252  rushing yards in three consecutive  contests.
 Leading Bishop Manogue to victory were  Brandon Mann and  Pele Masina.  Mann threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes, while  Masina rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Masina also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making four total tackles and defending a pass. A healthy portion of that aerial production (117 yards to be exact)  went to  Nathan Simmons, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
 The  defeat snapped Reed's winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 5-2 record. As for Bishop Manogue, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
 Reed will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Douglas at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th. Douglas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 32.6  points per game  this season. Bishop Manogue also won't see the field for a while: their next  match is against Reno at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th. Bishop Manogue is facing Reno at the right time seeing as Reno is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
