Manhattan is a perfect 8-0 against Emporia since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Indians will face off against the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. The match will give Manhattan their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Manhattan managed to slip by Seaman the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Indians lost 16-0 to the Vikings last Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Emporia won against West on Friday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Spartans blew past Life Prep 16-1. Considering the Spartans have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Emporia got a massive performance out of Atlyn Heffron, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriel Aguilar, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Emporia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Emporia and bumps their season record up to 8-14. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Manhattan, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Manhattan took their victory against Emporia in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
