Football Recap: West Limestone Comes Up Short

West Limestone extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They came up short against the Hatton Hornets, falling 40-14. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Hornets are ranked 125th).

As for Hatton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Considering they have won three games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Savarius Evans produced another solid performance rushing for 167 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries. Evans is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 112 every time he's taken the field this season. Karvieon Black was another key player, gaining 110 total yards and a touchdown.

Looking ahead, West Limestone will head out on the road to take on Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hatton, they will welcome Russellville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 928 yards in their previous games.
