Baseball Game Preview: Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs vs. Caledonia Warriors

The Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Caledonia Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville's last matchup with Cannon Falls could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Bulldogs lost 15-3 to the Bombers. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Bombers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Caledonia earned a 9-4 win over Rushford-Peterson on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Reid Klug was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Klug was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Ben Stemper and Garrett Konz did most of the damage at the plate: Stemper scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Konz scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Will Allen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Caledonia's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
