Recap: Amphitheater Panthers vs. Douglas Bulldogs
The Amphitheater Panthers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on Douglas with a sharp 60-35 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Amphitheater has posted since December 15, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Amphitheater to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Santillano, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Santillano scored 15 or more points. Rudy Rios was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six assists and four steals.
Amphitheater's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Douglas, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Amphitheater will head out on the road to face off against Mica Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mica Mountain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 366 points over their last five contests. As for Douglas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sahuarita at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sahuarita has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
