Basketball Recap: Wapato Takes a Loss

If Wapato was feeling good fresh off their 66-46 takedown of Connell on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wapato Wolves took a 74-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cashmere Bulldogs on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (66), the Wolves still had to take the loss.

Wapato's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Cashmere, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Wapato and Cashmere should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Wapato (ranked 50th) will meet Naches Valley (ranked 305th) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cashmere will take on Wahluke at 7:15 p.m. on Friday up 134 places (91 vs. 225).
