Preview: Corinth Warriors vs. Hardin County Tigers
Corinth has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Hardin County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Corinth earned a 53-44 victory over Alcorn Central.
Corinth can attribute much of their success to Griffen Enis, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds, and Xae Mayes, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. Enis continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Kylon Fields was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hardin County waltzed into Tuesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Fayette Academy 73-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The losses dropped Corinth to 3-4 and Alcorn Central to 2-7.
Corinth barely slipped by Hardin County when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 49-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corinth since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
