Basketball Game Preview: Ragsdale Tigers vs. Northern Guilford Nighthawks

Ragsdale is 1-9 against Northern Guilford since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Ragsdale Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Northern Guilford Nighthawks at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Ragsdale got the win against Southeast Guilford by a conclusive 61-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Brooke Parker was her usual excellent self, going 11-for-21 on her way to 36 points. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Ja'Mya Boddie was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Northern Guilford took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging a 64-28 victory over Western Guilford. The Nighthawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Northern Guilford pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Ragsdale, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Ragsdale couldn't quite finish off Northern Guilford in their previous meeting back in January and fell 44-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northern Guilford's Leena McField, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 18 rebounds.
