Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for North Mason

While North Mason's victory against Bainbridge wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Spartans 6-5. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Taylor Madison was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlee Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

North Mason was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bainbridge only posted a batting average of .241.

North Mason pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs across that stretch. As for Bainbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

North Mason and Bainbridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 139th) will meet Port Angeles (ranked 34th) at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bainbridge will take on North Kitsap at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (250 vs. 72).
