Soccer Game Preview: Forney vs. Longview

Forney hasn't had much luck against Longview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jackrabbits will face off against the Lobos at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Things were looking good for Forney after they put the first goal on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Rockwall-Heath who was credited with the victory. While losing is never fun, Forney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Rockwall-Heath are ranked 136th).

Longview took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lobos who were credited with the win. Longview got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Royse City's three. The victory continues a trend for Longview in their matchups with Royse City: they've now won three in a row.

Longview's win bumped their record up to 8-3-1. As for Forney, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 1-1-2 and their overall record down to 2-5-6.
