Baseball Game Preview: Monarch Coyotes vs. Denver North Vikings

The Monarch Coyotes are taking a road trip to square off against the Denver North Vikings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Monarch is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Horizon on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2. The Coyotes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Evan DiCarlo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Chase Knudsen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver North). They put the hurt on Rangeview with a sharp 15-0 victory on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.

Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Denver North, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
