Softball Recap: Oxon Hill Clippers vs. Bladensburg Mustangs

Oxon Hill put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Bladensburg Mustangs onto the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Give Oxon Hill's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Kennedy Woodruff was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Woodruff has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Hodges, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Oxon Hill's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Bladensburg, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Oxon Hill will head out on the road to challenge Douglass at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
