Softball Game Preview: Lamar Silver Foxes vs. Central Eagles

The Lamar Silver Foxes will challenge the Central Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Lamar fell victim to McBee and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Silver Foxes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lamar saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby McManus, who went 1-for-4 with one double.

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 18-0 to North Central.

Lamar has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Lamar skirted past Central 10-9 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Does Lamar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
