While Vinton County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Alexander Spartans by a score of 7-2 on Monday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Vinton County's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Alexander, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coming up, Vinton County will face off against Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alexander, they will square off against Marietta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.3 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
