Recap: Chisago Lakes Baptist vs. First Baptist Crusaders

If Chisago Lakes Baptist were feeling good off their 45-19 takedown of Cambridge Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Chisago Lakes Baptist fell 49-40 to First Baptist on Tuesday. If Chisago Lakes Baptist hoped to take revenge for the 41-29 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.

Despite the loss, Chisago Lakes Baptist saw an underclassman step up: Mariah Cave almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 16 rebounds, and nine blocks. Cave has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Becca Cave was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead First Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keira Wynja, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wynja has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lydia Wynja, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Chisago Lakes Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for First Baptist, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chisago Lakes Baptist will take on Rochester Area HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for First Baptist, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Metro HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
