Volleyball Recap: Roger Bacon Takes a Loss

If Roger Bacon was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cincinnati Christian on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Ursuline Academy Lions on Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-14.

Roger Bacon's offense was headlined by Brenna Huber and Etellina Jackson, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Emma McGraw and her 21 assists. Finally, Huber was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Mackenzie Higgins went supernova For Ursuline Academy., getting 16 digs and three assists. Higgins has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last seven times she's played. Madison Moine was another key player, getting ten digs.

Roger Bacon has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Ursuline Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
