Basketball Recap: Reed Point/Rapelje Comes Up Short

Reed Point/Rapelje lost against Plenty Coups back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades came up short against the Plenty Coups Warriors, falling 66-42. The Renegades were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.

Despite the defeat, Reed Point/Rapelje saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kami Herzog posted 15 points. Herzog is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Violet Herzog, who earned seven points.

Reed Point/Rapelje's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-7. As for Plenty Coups, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reed Point/Rapelje will welcome Bridger/Belfry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plenty Coups, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Northern Cheyenne Tribal at 6:30 p.m. Plenty Coups knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Northern Cheyenne Tribal likes a good challenge.
