Volleyball Recap: Pacheco Comes Up Short

Pacheco lost against Beyer back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers came up short against the Patriots, falling 3-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Pacheco was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Beyer's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-11, 25-14.

Beyer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brett Bird, who had five kills, three digs, three blocks, and two aces. That's the most blocks Bird has posted over his last five matchups. Jordan Sao Rodriguez was another key player, getting eight assists and three aces.

Pacheco's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Beyer, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pacheco will challenge rival Grace Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Beyer is set to square off against their familiar foe Ceres at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
