Basketball Game Preview: Itawamba Agricultural Indians vs. Okolona Chieftains + Official Tickets

The Itawamba Agricultural Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Okolona Chieftains at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Itawamba Agricultural took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Belmont with points to spare, taking the game 50-34. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Itawamba Agricultural got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keshun Wilson out in front who posted 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Malakii Casimier was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Itawamba Agricultural smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Okolona beat Aberdeen 55-46 on Tuesday.

Itawamba Agricultural's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Okolona, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Itawamba Agricultural against Okolona in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 79-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
