Softball Recap: Honaker Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Honaker can now relate to. They fell just short of the Holston Cavaliers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Alyssa Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Honaker saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Ray, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Honaker's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Holston, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Honaker nor Holston have any future games scheduled.
