Basketball Recap: Madison-Grant Comes Up Short

Madison-Grant was the 49-48 winner over Anderson Prep Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Madison-Grant Argylls took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anderson Prep Academy Jets on Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why Madison-Grant lost, don't look at Madalee Holloway. Despite the final result, she posted 21 points. Those 21 points gave Holloway a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Wood, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Madison-Grant was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Madison-Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Madison-Grant and Mississinewa will compete for holiday cheer at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Madison-Grant has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Union City at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
