Softball Recap: Sunset Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Sunset won against Central Catholic on Wednesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Apollos blew past the Aloha Warriors 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Apollos, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Gianna Micciche and Jordan Pe?a did most of the damage at the plate: Micciche went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Pe?a went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Micciche a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claire Hattendorf, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sunset was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aloha only posted a batting average of .300.

Sunset's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Aloha, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
