Volleyball Recap: Lake Central Falls Despite Big Games from Lilly Barth and Isabella Steliga

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Central can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crown Point Bulldogs on Thursday. The Indians have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Lake Central's loss came despite strong showings from Isabella Steliga and Lilly Barth. Steliga had 20 assists and four digs, while Barth had 18 assists and 12 digs. Steliga has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Leading Crown Point to victory were Elisabetta Bedoy and Hayden Klimowicz. Bedoy had 28 assists and ten digs, while Klimowicz had 21 digs and two assists. Those 28 assists gave Bedoy a new career-high. Paige Vode also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Lake Central's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Crown Point, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

Lake Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crown Point, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Hammond Morton on the 18th.
