Iowa City took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Xavier, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Little Hawks won by a goal and slipped past the Saints 2-1. The win was familiar territory for Iowa City, who have now won four contests in a row.

Iowa City's victory bumped their record up to 19-7-3. As for Xavier, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-5-5.

Iowa City wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Jefferson on the 16th. As for Xavier, they will welcome Linn-Mar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Linn-Mar will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Xavier surely won't give up without a fight.
