Robert C. Byrd and East Fairmont are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Eagles will face off against the Bees at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Robert C. Byrd is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Robert C. Byrd took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Buckhannon-Upshur, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Buccaneers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 11, 2024.

Ashton Shaffer was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cooper Floyd was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Fairmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Parkersburg on Saturday.

The win was the third in a row for Robert C. Byrd, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for East Fairmont, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Robert C. Byrd was able to grind out a solid victory over East Fairmont in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 9-6. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bees have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
