Basketball Recap: Van Wert Comes Up Short

Van Wert lost against Defiance back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Van Wert Cougars took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Defiance Bulldogs. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Van Wert has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Defiance, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Van Wert and Marion Local will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Marion Local will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Van Wert surely won't give up without a fight. As for Defiance, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wauseon at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
