Basketball Recap: Miamisburg Comes Up Short

Miamisburg played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Fairmont Firebirds, falling 60-16. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Firebirds: they've now lost five in a row.

Fairmont was led to victory by Janiyah Hargrave and Kaylah Thornton. Hargrave went 7 for 10 en route to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, while Thornton dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals. The game was Hargrave's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Cassidy Foster also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Miamisburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Fairmont, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Miamisburg has already played their next matchup (against Beavercreek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairmont has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Wayne.
