Basketball Recap: Oakland Christian Lancers vs. Lutheran Northwest Crusaders
Oakland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lutheran Northwest Crusaders. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 40-39.
Lutheran Northwest got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Kasat out in front who went 6 for 12 en route to 20 points. Isaac Henry was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven assists and five boards.
Oakland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lutheran Northwest, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8.
Oakland Christian will square off against Plymouth Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Plymouth Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Oakland Christian likes a good challenge. As for Lutheran Northwest, they will host Southfield Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
