Football Recap: Odessa Comes Up Short

Odessa extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were beaten by the Frenship Tigers 47-6. The matchup marked the Bronchos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Phillip Carrasco threw for 188 yards and one TD. Andrew Rodriguez was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards.

As for Frenship, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Frenship, who have now won three games by 28 points or more so far this season.

Braiden Dunkerson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 191 yards and five scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Odessa will face off against San Angelo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Frenship, they will square off against Permian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
